VEMAVERRE: A new concept in glass/metal
architecture
Bulky, heavy and massive architectural forms continue to
yield to an increasingly popular choice among contemporary industrial
designers and urban planners: light, ventilated and transparent structures
that represent the successful architectural synthesis of glass
and metal.
In addition to sturdy quality, mechanical stability and esthetic value,
the masterful combination of different components play an equally indispensable
role in the popularity, prestige and quality of this type of architecture:
-
-
- lighting,
-
- fixtures and weather-infiltration seal
-
- condensation,
-
- run-off water drainage,
-
- natural or assisted ventilation,
-
- thermal isolation and maintenance,
-
- acoustics and fire prevention, and
-
- automatic smoke evacuation and heat detection in case of emergency.
The development of VEMAVERRE, a new concept in glass/metal construction,
reflects the interdependece of the above-mentioned features. It also represents
the cumulative years of professional experience of our architectural engineering
staff.

The Sections: Tubular
rectangular steel sections; and exceptionally narrow surface that
can support a skyroof: 50 mm. Standard width (50 mm) and section
height are based on section length specifications.

Glass Panels: The VEMAVERRE
system is compatible with all types of commercial-quality glass. In
general, this means security or single reflective, UV-filtering glass
between 20 and 60 mm thick, with or without light-diffusion media.
|
Joists: 50mm width, with
EPDM extrusion compound: resistant to inclement weather, temperature
fluctuations and weathering; configured to ensure maximum drainage
of any water infiltration or seepage.

Supports
|
Supports: In aluminum extrusion;
copper extrusion option possible. The sections and supports may
be glazed, frosted, chromed or lacquered in all the anodized aluminum
tints and shades.
| |
VEMAVERRE: Ideal for two- and three-dimensional front elevation,
in inclined roofings and planes. This system also allows for the construction
of square- or rectangular-based 45° pyramid.

VEMATHERM: Special aluminum extruded sections, thermal bridge
plate breaking system scalable to construction specifications or inclined
front-elevations or planes. This design allows for the recovery of
water from condensation or infiltration. The special fire-proof SCHOTT-EBERSPACHER
glass panels are adaptable to the VEMA glass casement. Other structural
options may also be integrated: VEMASMOG ventilation ducts; VEMASHED
single-sided glazed skylights; VEMAFLUX and VEMATREND double-sided
glazed skylights; TOPLICHT, VEMALICHT and VARIOLICHT, double-sided
modular skylights for three-dimensional architecture, 45° pyramids...
